Lockheed Martin Sikorsky’s new $11 billion contract to supply CH-53K heavy-lift helicopters to the U.S. Marine Corps is creating a ripple effect across Connecticut, and Beta Shim is among the companies seeing immediate benefits.
With more than 700 of its precision components built into the CH-53K, Beta Shim is a key supplier helping to bring this advanced aircraft to life. The company, which employs 85 people across its Shelton and Trumbull facilities, is already expanding—adding a 12,000-square-foot space in Shelton to support the increased demand.
The contract allows Beta Shim to invest in more advanced equipment and automation, while also providing employees with opportunities for new training and skill development. Just as importantly, it brings long-term stability to the workforce, ensuring steady work and growth for years to come.
As production ramps up on nearly 100 new CH-53Ks, Beta Shim’s role highlights how Connecticut manufacturers are at the center of one of the nation’s most significant aerospace projects.
